Joe Beimel Officially Released

After designating lefty Joe Beimel a few days ago, the Pirates have released him. Beimel, 34, posted a non-impressive 5.33 ERA this season, while allowing six homeruns in just 25.1 innings. He had been decent against lefties, though he was never claimed.
